Vicente Martinez, Jr. was born and raised in La Frontera/Rio Grande Valley and serves as VoteRiders’ Texas Coordinator. Prior to joining VoteRiders, he worked on Rochelle Garza’s campaign for Texas Attorney General, mobilizing over $500,000 as call time manager. He previously held a wide range of organizing and political roles at the Texas Democratic Party, Working Families Party, the ACLU of Texas, and the Texas Freedom Network. From assisting asylum seekers at the US/Mexico border to helping establish the first LGBTQ+ Task Force in the Rio Grande Valley, Vicente believes in treating all individuals with dignity and respect. When Vicente is not busy fighting for a good cause, he indulges in his passion for baking. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley.
