Nancy V. Nerio

Texas State University Regional Admissions Counselor

I'm a first generation Chicana from the RGV. My parents taught us from a young age the value of a college education. I received my BA in History from Texas State University in 2012. After graduation, I began my journey in education where I taught Kinder, 6th and 7th grade for 11 years for a local school district. I left the classroom to help students in another way - college admissions. Thankfully TXST took me in as one of the RGV Admissions Counselors. This job allows me to support students who are starting their college journey. Because of my field of work, I feel like I am able to give back to my community.
